Our Story

Abide was formed to develop a self-sustained discipleship and disaster ministry. By helping Christ followers live out a new model of discipleship ministry and combining that with an entrepreneurial approach that rejuvenates communities, we are working to create a financially stable disaster and housing ministry.

Our goal is to take what we have already learned and accomplished through Hurricane Michael recovery and build upon it by focusing on three missions: Discipleship, Disaster and Housing.

In our region, where hurricanes, tornadoes and flooding occur often, our Disaster Mission is an important ministry that needs to be regularly maintained rather than shut down and restarted each time a disaster strikes. This mission needs to be funded which leads to the second mission…

The Housing Mission, aka the “socially entrepreneurial mission” seeks to generate income through buying, selling, renting, repairing and building homes. Though our Housing Mission, we will seek to achieve a balance between services to paying clients and free or low-cost assistance for those who cannot afford our services. This mission aims to show the love of God through service by creating sustainable places for all people to live.

Our Disaster and Housing Missions are supported spiritually through the Discipleship mission. This mission is an intense program of daily spiritual development that prepares our people to be the best imitation of Christ they can be while interacting with people through each of the three missions
